All of our venues have additional uses when they are not being operated by IFS. The venues themselves will not have any information about ticketing or the festival if contacted directly.

If you wish to purchase tickets prior to arrival at the festival please visit Eventbrite.

IFS VENUE POLICY

Because IFS is in the position of having three great venues of varying sizes to choose from, it has the ability to only showcase films that we find to be excellent. Only after our film program is chosen does the IFS decide which venues to utilize. Factoring in the amount of quality films and the potential audience they can draw. In contrast to other festivals of similar size that get locked into screening locations or time slots so far in advance they have to pick films to fill time or to pay the rent on all that leased space, instead of just being able to screen the best films submitted.

We attempt to be a politics-free and debt-free organization that picks the best films according to our members and our board of directors and by managing our finances so that every bit of profit that comes in is turned around and reinvested to make our showcases and festivals better each year.

If your film is chosen it will be shown in a clean and smart venue in front of our patron base that includes film industry professionals, film students who attend the most prestigious film schools in the world, film lovers and film addicts who have been coming to our showcases and festivals for over a decade and bring with them a zeal for finding and falling in love with new works of challenging and unique cinema, because they know and trust in the IFS to discover the best unheralded films and to screen them with the greatest amount of respect for the work and its creators.

CONTACTING VENUES DIRECTLY

Our screening venues are leased to the IFS to hold events, the landlords of our venues are not affiliated with the IFS and do not possess any information regarding the showcases or film festivals we hold there. Venues do not have any information regarding screening times, ticketing information or any IFS business.

Any ticketing issues are to be directed to the Laemelle's Theater Box Office or Eventbrite depending on where you purchased your tickets.

SUPPORT THE IFS THEATER

Each year since 1999 the Independent Filmmakers Showcase has expanded at a furious pace until today when we have reached a point where the IFS sincerely needs its own event space and cinema house to continue operating at its fullest capabilities.

The IFS is in the middle of a major fundraising push to insure that by the end of this year we can cut the ribbon on THE HOLLYWOOD IFS THEATRE. This theater will enable us to DOUBLE the amount of film events and showcases that we can annually hold, allowing us to show more great films more often at a reduction to our already low membership and admission prices as the Independent Filmmakers Showcase moves foreword.

Please check out our FUNDRASING PAGE to see our plans for the future and how you can join in this special opportunity to be a part of our continued growth in promoting and presenting independent film, our future expansion and how it will help our efforts to spotlight and assist emerging new talent in finding outlets and greater distribution for their films.  Check out the different gifts and packages offered for all levels of contribution and commitment. We are all in this together independent filmmakers, film lovers, and film programmers. Please help IFS and independent cinema in 2012.

Until our mission is accomplished, the IFS will continue to use some of the best locations in Los Angeles and Hollywood to hold our Independent Filmmaker Showcases, Student Filmmaker Showcases, as well as our Spotlight Showcases (the Horror Showcase, the GLBT Showcase, the Animation Showcase, the Documentary Showcase, the Comedy Showcase, etc.), our special screenings, and our Film Festivals.
